The Bridget Fetter Finish-the-Dream Scholarship was created in tribute to Bridget Fetter’s 37-year career in education, including 15 years at Polk State.

A true servant leader, Bridget has always putting others before herself – especially students. Starting as the Lakeland Collegiate High School Assistant Principal in 2004, she became the founding Principal of Chain of Lakes High School in 2006. Throughout this time, students, graduates, instructors, and staff have experienced extraordinary personal growth and achievement through her encouraging leadership style.

Over her tenure, the percentage of students graduating with a Polk State associate degree has steadily increased from 8% for the Class of 2008, to 67% for the Class of 2018. Additionally, the average number of college credits earned per student has increased from 34 credits for the Class of 2008, to 57 credits for the Class of 2018. The Chain of Lakes Collegiate Program has had a 100% graduation rate for the past five years, with 91% of the students graduating with honors.

The Bridget Fetter Finish-the-Dream Scholarship will be awarded to graduates of Polk State’s charter high schools who have not yet finished associate degrees at Polk State. This scholarship will be the first of its kind at the Foundation and a dream come true for Bridget.

Thank you for your support of this important scholarship that serves students and is a lasting tribute to a beloved educator.
