Polk State College Foundation Events

Thank you for your interest in supporting Polk State College and the Polk State College Foundation!

The Polk State College Foundation offers several different fundraising events throughout the year. These events help raise money for scholarships and programs for Polk State College students.

william ryan golf logoThe A.D. Morgan Corporation 26th Annual William N. Ryan Memorial Golf Classic in partnership with MidAmerica Administrative and Retirement Solutions, Inc. will be held at Lone Palm Golf Club on January 17, 2019. The event proceeds benefit the Polk State College Baseball Team.

Festivities will begin with an 11:30 a.m. lunch, followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start, and the day will conclude with a celebration in the clubhouse with delicious food and refreshments, gifts for all attendees, prizes, and a drawing for a big screen television. Please join the Polk State College Baseball Team and Foundation for this much anticipated yearly tradition of fun, camaraderie, and philanthropy at the Lone Palm Golf Club.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Polk State College Foundation will  present this exciting annual event on March 21, 2019 at Polk State Winter Haven, and March 22, 2019 at Polk State Lakeland. These events are presented by The A.D. Morgan Corporation, SunTrust, and Tampa Electric/Peoples Gas- an Emera Company.

Each year, the Foundation chooses a speaker who can blend humor with life lessons applicable to work and personal life, making for an engaging, insightful, and entertaining luncheon. The luncheon is held on a Thursday on the Winter Haven campus, with the Friday luncheon held on the Lakeland campus.

Onclays for courts 2015 logo April 18, 2019, the Polk State College Foundation will once again present the Regal Lakeland Clays for Courts and held at Catfish Creek Sporting Clays. This sporting clays event benefits the basketball and volleyball teams.

The event begins at 9:00 a.m. with a breakfast, followed by a 50-target sporting clays shoot. Immediately following the shoot is a steak luncheon and the awards presentation. Ammunition, meals, and gifts are provided as part of individual and team sponsorship.

Wine for Wisdom – California

On September 12, 2019, the Polk State College Foundation’s signature event – Wine for Wisdom – will continue the World Tour by celebrating the sumptuous food and fine wines of California! This highly anticipated event celebrates 10 years in 2019, and the event raises money to benefit student scholarships.

The Boyer Building Corporation will be the presenting sponsor for the nineth year in a row for this incredible dining experience. The night will be carefully sculpted by a master chef and sommelier, who will both pair items to maximize the savory pleasures enjoyed by all. Sure to be a sellout once again, this event will be held on September 12 in the Health Center on the Winter Haven Campus.

Joggin’ for the Noggin! 5K

On October 18, 2019, the Joggin’ for the Noggin! 5K presented by Regal Lakeland in partnership with Florida Blue, will be held on the Lakeland Campus. This Halloween-themed 5K run and 1-mile Walkin’ While Walkin’ sponsored by Citizens Bank & Trust benefit student scholarships and programs on the Lakeland Campus. In its eighth year, this family-friendly event offers a little something for everyone. Participants can run, jog, or walk the 3.1-mile course that includes pavement on the Polk State campus and a trek along the Fort Fraser Trail. The race is chip-timed and awards are presented during a Monster Mash with music, food, and fun. There is also a one-mile walk for those who want to participate for a shorter distance. Costumes are welcome at this event, and zombies are featured along the course for a bit of spooky fun! The race starts at 6:30 p.m., and the Monster Mash and awards ceremony follow afterward.
