April 2011 Check Presentation

Thursday, June 2, 2011

As every good parent knows, raising a child from birth to meaningful adulthood—the kind in which an individual not only meets the challenges of life, but has a continuously growing impact on the community and on future generations—requires sound guidance combined with loving generosity. And this powerful concoction applies to the growth and nurturing of any important venture, including the blossoming of an institution of learning.

The attorneys at Boswell and Dunlap have provided that priceless blend to Polk State College through their sound legal advice combined with heartfelt philanthropy in the form of very generous donations to the Polk State College Foundation through the years. Add to that the warm hospitality of Don Wilson and his wife Holly, who graciously opened their home in recent years to host an appreciation reception for major donors, and it’s clear this is truly a group of loyal friends to the Foundation whose support is invaluable and who have helped the College achieve great success, impacting countless individual’s lives.

In a check presentation ceremony on April 25, 2011 at its District Board of Trustees meeting on the Winter Haven campus, the Polk State College Foundation gratefully honored Boswell and Dunlap for its sound legal advice, its warm hospitality and its generous support of Polk State College scholarships and programs over the years totaling $12,000.

On hand to accept the honor were Boswell and Dunlap firm partners Don Wilson, David Carmichael and John Murphy. They were warmly thanked by Cindy Price, Immediate Past Chair of the of the Polk State College Foundation Board of Directors, on behalf of the entire Foundation Board of Directors.

“The College and Foundation are thankful to Don Wilson, and before him Mr. C.A. Boswell, for their professional opinions that have helped to guide the institution to the great success that it is today, and for your firm’s important support of Polk State College students. Please accept our deepest gratitude,” said Ms. Price.
