Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Since 1988, Publix Super Market Charities has given $260,000 to Polk State College Foundation, including $100,000 for the major gifts campaign and donations for scholarships and programs such as the annual Golf Tournament. On January 25th, Sharon Miller, Executive Director of Publix Super Markets Charities, presented a check to the College’s District Board of Trustees representing these generous donations. Teresa Olinger, a Polk State College student who serves on the Polk State College Foundation Board of Directors, and Administrative Assistant to the Director of Media & Community Relations at Publix, warmly thanked Sharon on behalf of the board. “I have witnessed the tremendous difference Publix Super Markets and Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc., as well as the Jenkins, Barnett, Hollis and Fancelli families have made on innumerable organizations and individuals in our communities,” said Olinger.
