Sample Bequest Language

A bequest is simple and convenient, and you have a number of options from which to choose.

You can:

  • Make a bequest for a specific dollar amount or for a percentage of your estate.
  • Designate your bequest for general use, or you can restrict its use.
  • Many individuals establish endowments that honor the memory of a family member or another loved one. These endowments live forever since only the income is used annually.  You can request the Polk State College Foundation’s investment policy by contacting our office at 863-297-1071.

To assist you with this important process, we offer some suggested bequest wording below. (As with any important legal document, you should seek assistance from an attorney.)

“I give and bequeath to Polk State College Foundation, a Florida non-profit organization, located at 999 Avenue H. Northeast, Winter Haven, Florida 33881 [the sum of $______] [ ____ percent of my residuary estate] [the following property] for [state purpose] of Polk State College Foundation.”
