January 2019 Check Presentation

Monday, February 18, 2019

At the January 2019 District Board of Trustees meeting, the Polk State College Employee Giving Campaign was recognized for another successful year.

All gifts to the Foundation are important, but this check presentation is the essence of meaningful. Polk State College Employees exude their dedication to students and the College mission daily. They witness students every day who need a hand up to be able to achieve their dream of a college degree. They give that hand up, not only through their expertise, but also through their philanthropy. Polk State College is a prime example that charity, indeed, begins at home.

This $50,995.17 check presentation today represents the generosity of the employees during 2018. Polk State employees, year after year, support the Foundation in all of its initiatives. Additionally, on numerous occasions when they became aware of a need they made anonymous donations to help students transform their lives. Foundation Board Chair, Gary Boyer, introduced the gift and recognized representatives of all of the employee groups here with us today to represent their peers: BJ Lewis from Career Employees, Karen Moore from Professional/Technical Employees, Bill Caldecutt –Faculty Senate President, and Administrator Andy Oguntola.
